Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned rapper and music mogul, was arrested by federal agents in New York following months of mounting allegations against him, including charges of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and rape. An indictment unsealed on Tuesday revealed disturbing claims that Combs and his associates coerced and abused women to fulfill his sexual desires. This included alleged incidents of forcing victims into recorded sexual activities, referred to by Combs as “Freak Outs.”
Combs, who is also known by former stage names such as Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, has faced numerous lawsuits from several women and others accusing him of sexual misconduct, with some allegations dating back to the 1990s. One of the most high-profile cases came in November 2023 when singer Cassie Ventura, his former partner, filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of years of abuse, trafficking, and rape. The case was settled out of court a day after the lawsuit was filed.
The accusations against Combs have only escalated, with more women and former associates coming forward. Recently, Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith was awarded a $100 million judgment in a sexual assault case stemming from a 1997 party. Combs has denied all the allegations, with his legal team branding them as baseless and “money grabs.”
In a more recent development, federal agents raided Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing investigation. Combs’ attorneys continue to assert his innocence, dismissing the lawsuits as fabrications and character attacks. However, the allegations continue to pile up, leaving his future and career in jeopardy as these legal battles unfold.
